About Susana Galilea

Accredited translator Susana Galilea has been involved with languages since childhood. Raised in a bilingual setting, she obtained her Baccalauréat (French secondary school diploma) with high honors at Lycée Français de Barcelone.

Susana holds a Diploma in Translation from Escuela Universitaria de Traductores e Intérpretes at Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona. She is a member of the Midwest Association of Translators and Interpreters, a chapter of the American Translators Association (ATA).

Previously based in New York City, Susana worked as senior editor and proofreader for several of the leading translation agencies in the area. For many years she also trained in modern and ethnic dance, as well as holistic bodywork. She launched Accent On Spanish upon relocating to Chicago in 2003.

Susana has contributed writing to a variety of publications. Drawing on her extensive background in both language and movement, her approach to a sentence focuses on rhythm, impulse and a sense of proportion.
