About Susana Galilea
Accredited translator Susana Galilea has been involved with languages since her early years. Raised in a bilingual and bicultural setting in Barcelona, Spain, she obtained her Baccalauréat (French secondary school diploma) with high honors at Lycée Français de Barcelone. She went on to earn a Diploma in Translation from Escuela Universitaria de Traductores e Intérpretes at Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona.
Previously based in New York City, Susana worked as senior editor and proofreader for some of the leading translation agencies in the area. She launched Accent On Spanish upon relocating to Chicago in 2003. She is a member of the Midwest Association of Translators and Interpreters and of the International Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters.
For many years, Susana trained in modern and ethnic dance, as well as holistic bodywork. She has also contributed writing to a variety of publications. Drawing on her extensive background in both language and movement, her approach to a sentence focuses on rhythm, impulse and a sense of proportion.
